Why you need a coach in your life? You may ask. Here are my answers and experience.
After reaching a certain age, you could say that you have experienced enough, you are old enough to be the one to give advice and you do not need someone to tell you how to improve your life. But the reality is that we learn from others through our entire life.
What is Life coaching?
It is not a fitness coaching where you get the exercises that you need to do every other day, it is not a health coaching where you receive a detailed meal plan for each day, it is about your life and what do you want to do with it.
Someone will guide you to help you materialize your wishes and get closer to your true self. WOW…this seems magical. But bear in mind the work is on you.
I decided to get a life coach in June 2016, I found my coach @wholesomestef via blogging research. Though she was younger I felt than me that she was indeed the person I needed to enter in my life.
I remember the first meeting when I had to complete the simple questions about « what is your goal for the next 3 months? », then « for the next month? » and for « next week? »
It was hard for me to think about what I would like so precisely to happen in my life but oh so good to realize that if I want anything to happen, it needed to be broken down into steps. Furthermore, that I could and should start now.
Life coaching is a process where you will think of ways to add or change small or big things in your routine. The goal is to move your from where you are to where you would like to be.
As Stef put it on her blog : a life coach « will empower you to take charge of your health and provide ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness ».
Of course I highly recommend Stef but it is important to find the person that you feel matches your need.
Who can benefit from it?
Everyone looking for help, but also for change.
I read many books on self development, I have gone through deep dive, I moved cities several time, I experienced broke up more than needed. I could say I knew the bad and the good of me from many introspections… Nevertheless, it is precious to have someone that shows you a different perspective. Someone that will thrive for you to succeed. I believe we all need and deserve some help when it comes to self development.
You need to be open to test new things, to go outside of your comfort zone and to talk about it.
Therefore, you will most likely take from it if you are ready to change.
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world” – Gandhi.
What will you learn from it?
- Look forward and move forward
- Keep a Journal to review your progress and be accountable
- Realize that time flies and that every day counts
- Look at things from a different angle
Why I will redo it?
Because it is a great support when your head get easily overwhelmed by social media, work, family… Time goes so fast. You do not realize how we get caught up in bad routines. It is necessary sometime to ask for help.
For me now, as I have a lot going on in my head, I will benefit from it. I need to focus again in what is important and be more conscious about what I am doing. You see if I did not post as regularly as planned, it is not about anything else that because I did not plan accordingly. I let go of my priorities… We do not want that, we want to be sure we focus on our priorities and become the best version of ourselves.
“Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans” – John Lennon.
So let’s start to make a good plan to become the best version of ourself.
